The Bridle Path is an immensely popular public house, which has been around for over 150 years (formerly known as the Three Tuns) it was originally sited where our front raised area is now, and the original part of the building was a Coaching House with stable at the back.
It was converted into the main building between 1900 and 1930 approximatley, it has grown and evolved into what it is today with two major refurbishments, in 1984 it changed from the Three Tuns into the Bridle Path, and was extended to incorporate the circular 'Cheers" type central bar that we have today.
In 1997 it was made 70% bigger and the central bar extended with the new kitchen, cellars, extra toilets, storeroom and office by the Sunderland based company Vaux, who owned the pub for as long as anybody can remember, they sold it to the newly formed Barracuda Group in 2000.
Today we are a Juniper Inn brand which offers, quality service and standards and something for everyone, be it great food, high quality wines, with sports, quizes, live entertainment, pool, darts, dominoes and much more!
Our rear external drinking area has new technology heaters and large unmberellas (coming soon) and accomodates a heated smoking area for all.
